sure it is! Those reds stay right by the park for a long time in the summer. Fish the point by the beach and also spider island.
Ive been to Calaveras Lake a million times but i never catch fish like you do,plus i dont have a boat so i fish on the banks and its not deep enough for the big ones

It is a great spot, but they come and go, still have to be there for the bite, and find what they want! last week it was white rattle traps.
