  1. @Mudderinthesouth We were using quartered blue crabs on the edge of the
ship channel near Blount Island. I have caught some nice Reds in Sister’s
Creek. I like the out going tide best.

  2. @laxlag16 The huge Reds are in the St Johns along the river channel between
the Dames Pt Bridge and the Jetties. The smaller reds are in the creeks off
the ICW near the Beach Blvd bridge.

  3. Read the comment above. Heavy tackle is safer for the large breeding fish.
If you noticed while fighting the slot size fish we are not wearing the
    belts. Take a kid fishing.

    and mullet.

  5. yah i live in jax and i went to sisters creek and caught a couple of small
reds and speckeled trout…sisters creek is not the best but itll work for
    fishing………………(what bait did u use)

  6. @MrWeasleboy Mostly we use live bait. I like live fish for the larger Reds,
either Pogies, Mullet, Threads, or mud minnows. Half crabs also work well
for the huge Reds. In the creeks shrimp work well and sometimes gulps or
fish imitating lures in mullet patterns.

  7. Heavy tackle helps the fish survive the fight. Light tackle exhausts the
fish. I learned this from multiple guides in the Jax area. There are also a
lot of bull sharks that love eating these over sized reds.
